EFM: FILM.UA’s The Rising Hawk was pre-sold to Spain

FILM.UA Group has closed a deal on historical action film The Rising Hawk at the European Film Market. All rights for the film were pre-sold to Flins & Piniculas company for the territory of Spain. The movie will premier in Ukraine’s theaters later this year.

Produced by FILM.UA Group’s Kinorob, The Rising Hawk (‘110) is an historical action by Akhtem Seitablayev and John Wynn, starring Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Die Hard 2), Tommy Flanagan (Braveheart, Gladiator), Poppy Drayton (The Downtown Abbey), Alison Doody (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), Andriy Isayenko and Oleh Voloschenko.

The film shooting was taking place in the Carpathians and Kyiv, Ukraine in Summer 2018. Currently the film is on its post-production stage, and its national release is scheduled for Autumn 2019. FILM.UA Group presented the first work-in-progress scene and film’s teaser at this market.

The year is 1241. The Mongol horde lead by cruel khan Burunda moves west, destroying everything in its path. Reaching the Carpathian mountains, the troops camp right below. However, at night several local hunters, the Berkut brothers, secretly enter the camp and free the hostages. Consumed with rage, the khan decides to take revenge and destroy the Carpathian settlements. A traitor amongst the locals tells the Mongols about a secret passage inside the mountains. Nevertheless, a small group of mountain hunters lead by Zakhar Berkut has its own plan to stop the enemy horde once and for all.
