Sunita Uchil, Chief Business Officer, International Ad Sales, Global Syndication & Production of the Global Content Hub of Zee said: ‘We are very honored that one of our many outstanding dramas was recognized for the special People’s Choice “Face of the Year Award”. Waaris is a great story that travels the world and is loved by many audiences'.
Waaris is the story of why and how a girl was raised as a boy. The tale begins with a family dispute between two brothers, Charan and Jagan, who own most of the farmland in Gaguwal. Their mother declares that the business will be handed over to Jagan if Charan doesn’t have a son. Soon after this announcement, Charan is killed just as his wife gives birth to a girl so she claims that Charan’s baby is in fact a boy, naming her the Waaris and thus begins the dramatic turn of events.
