Saban Brands, a subsidiary of Saban Capital Group, Inc., has selected MarVista Entertainment to commercialize internationally the company's Power Rangers series, and Snap TV will be the one to distribute it in Latin America.
The global distribution includes 700 episodes produced over 17 years, as well as 20 new ones for the upcoming 18th season slated to debut on Nickelodeon and Nicktoons in 2011. Saban re-acquired the Power Rangers from Disney in May and the property will be showcased at the MIPCOM conference in October.
Introduced in 1993, Power Rangers became the most watched children's television program in the United States. In addition, it was seen in more than 60 countries and translated into numerous languages.
‘We look forward to re-introducing international audiences through our new series, as well as the classic episodes', said Elie Dekel, president of Saban Brands.
‘Power Rangers defined a generation. We are embarking on a new era for this powerful global entertainment brand', commented Fernando Szew, CEO of MarVista Entertainment.
