Cash Cab, a game show format o wned and created by Lion Television, part of the All3media International group of companies, and produced by Arik Henig Productions, picked up a Israeli Academy Award for best documentary entertainment series as it reached its 100th episode in the territory.

Cash Cab, which shows unsuspecting members of the public stepping inside a seemingly ordinary taxi cab to suddenly discover they are on national television with the chance to win a small fortune by answering questions during the length of their journey, broadcasts in Israel on Keshet since 2007, with an audience share of 36%.

In addition, the success of the format is further underlined by a host of new local versions set for launch later this year, bringing the total number of episodes commissioned around the world to more than 4,500.  In a new deal with Jamaica's Real Jam, a 20 episode series of Cash Cab has been commissioned to debut on Television Jamaica from the end of September. Later this year, a first series of 30 episodes will launch to pan Asian audiences through an English language deal with AXN and a 20 episode series will launch on France's W9 in October, produced by Pernel Media. Then, a renewal deal in Spain sees 65 episodes commissioned by ATN for air on Canal Sur and a second series of 20 episodes will be produced by Studio ATA for Mega Channel in Greece.

The game show has been produced in over 30 territories around the world, including the US, where it has won a further three Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards, as well as Canada, Poland, Germany, Indonesia, the Middle East, Australia and Italy.
